She’s been a legal assistant in the real estate department at HP&L since October, 1984, working initially solely with Tom Haughey, but now works alongside Mark Lamper as well. She’s been working in and out of the legal field since her college graduation in 1975. (No doing the math to see how old I am, thank you!)
She has a 25 lb. cat named Merlin who she claims is her reason for working so much overtime. It takes a lot of money to keep Merlin on veterinary diet food for 7 years. At least he hasn’t eaten his sister Guinevere yet since she’s only 10 lbs. and very cute!
Marian has never met a chocolate she didn’t like! Her favorite sayings are: “Chocolate goes with everything” and “Life without chocolate is too terrible to contemplate”. She’s the first to scope out the office waiting room candy jar upon its refill on Mondays.
Unfortunately, due to the above, she’s had to exercise (optimistically) 5 to 6 days a week! Her favorite exercise is running and she runs 3 – 4 times a week with a great group of fellow runners. She’s proud to say she ran a half marathon the year she turned 50 (please, again, no calculators!) after only running regularly for about 3 years. She also enjoys spinning (indoor cycling) classes, and when the New England climate permits, cycling on a real bicycle in the warm weather (2 months a year) and snowshoeing and x-country skiing in the winter (about 10 months a year).
Her second addiction in her life is Patriots football. As the self-proclaimed HP&L’s biggest Patriots fan, she can proudly boast that she watched every single game this past year – start to finish – including pre-season and post-season football. We will not, however, talk about the Super Bowl! Loves animals and is one of the “office Moms” to Ebony, the office cat.
